Our Speaker Today
Chuck Beebe, our President Elect, gave us some insight into the PETS weekend he attended.
There were roughly 900 attendees. Some of the many subjects touched on were; women in club leadership positions; Foundation Giving and Membership. He said that our Club is in great shape.
One of the challenges for many clubs is membership recruitment and membership retention. Each and every member of Rotary should strive to introduce someone that they know to Rotary. He told a great story that was related to him by Frank Devlin, a past Rotary International President. Frank had worked on a few projects with Bill Gates. Frank asked Bill Gates, with all of the charitable and philanthropic projects he had done, why he never joined Rotary? His answer was simple. "No one ever asked me", he replied. Bill Gates is now a Rotarian and very active in his club. Chuck said he was truly inspired during the entire weekend. So many great ideas, stories, people and
encouragement were available to him. Chuck plans to continue the $100 for 100% of membership Foundation Giving. We all look forward to listening to Chuck at the Annual Dinner on June 27th.
