John Ford received a note from the Laurel Bike Club thanking us for our help and participation in the Bike Race. It was a great success and everyone had a wonderful time.

Bruce Steinway saw Chuck Beebe and Chuck sent his regards to everyone.

We still need golfers and raffle prizes for our Annual Golf Tournament scheduled for September.

There will be a Board of Directors Meeting at Alderson Funeral Home at 5:00PM Thursday, September 4^th.

Marcelo noted that we still have plenty of room for both bus trips. One occurring in October to Mohegan Sun Casino and the other occurring in November to Radio City Music Hall in New York City for the Christmas Spectacular. Due to the requirement of the tour company, we will need to make our deposit to hold the buses, so please make your checks payable to the Naugatuck Rotary Club. Remember these are open to Rotarians’ family and friends too, so please help us make this a success by attending and enjoying the fellowship!

Our Speaker Today

Today’s speaker host and speaker was Mary Connolly. Mary is a member of the Naugatuck Women’s Study Club. Every year each of the members are asked to write a paper on a specific subject chosen by the Study Club. Mary read us her paper titled, “The Powers that be”. It spoke of how power can be used for good and evil and easily one can be corrupted by it.
