Naugatuck Discovery has been serving the community since 2002. The initiative was the result of a grant awarded by the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund in Hamden, CT. Through Discovery, more than 50 Connecticut communities and other partners statewide are working with the Graustein Memorial Fund to improve the lives of young children from birth through age 8. With focused attention on parent leadership and engagement and collaboration, Discovery communities and partners are pursuing four objectives: Naugatuck Discovery seeks to increase the community's understanding of the importance of early childhood for a child's social, emotional and academic development. Naugatuck Discovery also works to create and strengthen community partnerships and engage parent to achieve its goals of having all Naugatuck children excel in school and in life.
The Naugatuck Discovery Committee is made up of volunteers eager to make positive impacts on the early childhood experiences of Naugatuck's children.
