Our Speaker Today

Rupi Rupwani, speaker host today, introduced Sandra Summer and Dr. Marcy Kane, Chief Operating Officer from Wellpath.  Wellpath is a private, non-profit regional center that offers comprehensive and integrated mental health services to children, adolescents, parents and families.

In it's beginning in 1951, it served fewer than 100 children per year. In 2008, Child Guidance Clinic of Greater Waterbury began operating under the corporate name of Wellpath, Inc. Equipped with a $10,000,000 annual budget, 160 staff and seven sites, their programs now provide safety, health and hope to more than 6,000 children and family members throughout a 42-town region in northwestern Connecticut.

The Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services (EMPS) provide urgent care to children, adolescents and families in crisis. Professional staff is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for intervention, counseling, information and refferal services to help with suicidal, behavioral and other violent threats, loss of control, and traumatic experiences.

Wellpath is involved with the Naugatuck School System handling refferals from school nurses and teachers. There is a Wellpath office located on Church Street in Naugatuck and they receive some funding from the United Way of Naugatuck and Beacon Falls.
