Our Speaker Today Rupi Rupwani introduced our District Governor Colin Gershon. Colin expressed how happy he was to be at our club and remarked what a great district we have. So far he has visited 53 clubs. He touched on the 2 provision clubs in our district - Beacon Falls and Black Rock. Beacon Falls needs only 2 more members to become a chartered club. He spoke of attending the International Convention this year in Birmingham England and what a great experience it was to see how Rotary is truly a global movement. He highly recommends attending at least one and this coming convention (June 2010) will be in our "back yard" - Montreal Canada. Colin stressed one of the goals of John Kenny RI President this year and that is membership! The goal is Net + One - Keep One/ Reach One. He also hoped that we will all attend the District Conference in Burlington Vermont next May. It is a beautiful area to visit and promises to be an exciting conference for all. Colin spoke to us of his special projects, "Colin's Campers" which benefits the "Hole-in -the -wall -gang" founded by Paul Newman and the India Literacy Project "School on Wheels". It was an honor to have District Governor Colin Gershon visit with us.
