Our Speaker Today
Jill Schoenfuss from LISA (Living In Safe Alternative) L.I.S.A is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. LISA is the parent agency which operates 6 residential and educational programs for adolescents and young adults who are under the care of the Dept. of Children & Families. These programs share a common mission: "To provide a safe, supportive, empowering environment for teens and young adults who are victims of abuse and neglect. Our programs and services are directed to help residents develop healthy interpersonal relationships, realize academic achievement, facilitate the exploration of spirituality and teach independent living skills." LISA receives 95% of its funding on a per-Diem or grant basis from the State of Connecticut. Donations from United Way as well as from other concerned community organization and individuals. Our Naugatuck Rotary Foundation & 8Oth Anniversary Dinner will be held at the Crystal Room on School Street, November 21st beginning at 6:30. Cost is $35.00 per person. Please call John Aresta 729-5401 or John McCormack 720-0100 for reservations. We will be honoring Terry Barber as our Paul Harris Fellow. Buffet Dinner will include Chicken Marsala, Baked Stuffed Scrod, Sliced Roast Beef, Salad, Potatoes, Vegetables, Bread and Dessert.
