Dear Fellow Rotarians,

 

 

I am excited as we begin yet another Rotary year with our new RI President John Kenny and  

our District Governor Colin M. Gershon.

 

It has been asked of all club Presidents and District Governors to lead and inspire our Rotarians. Officers in Rotary come and go with every year, but Rotarians we remain.

 

As Rotarians, we are responsible for this great organization. As Sir Issac Newton said, "If I have seen further than others, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." Each one of us is standing on the shoulders of generations of Rotarians past and it is our responsibility to determine Rotary's future.

 

That is why, in 2009 -2010, our theme is: "The Future of Rotary is in your Hands."

 

John Kenny's closing remarks were, "We stand, each of us today, at a turning point in Rotary's history. We are closer than ever to making the world polio-free. We have the opportunity to help finish the job that Rotary started more than two decades ago. We are realists. We know that what we do will have an impact that will resonate far beyond our own lives."

 

That is why the Naugatuck Rotary Club will be a leader in our District in raising awareness' and funds to end Polio in the world.

 

I look forward to receiving your support to help me guide our wonderful organization for a stronger, healthier and more peaceful world. Together we are strong, and that is why
